Although we
have only One Mind, it seems we have two minds, like - Conscious and the Subconscious mind. The conscious mind is
that part of our mind of which we are aware; thus the subconscious mind is the
part we're not directly aware of.
There is no
fixed line delineating the conscious and subconscious aspects of the mind. It is
like looking into deep water. The depth to which we will be able to perceive
depends on how dirty the water is; in the same way, we are “least conscious” when
our mind is polluted by fear. Conversely, when our minds are clear and at peace, we become much more conscious of the deeper layers of our minds.
Although
there is only One Mind, from our perspective as humans it seems as if we each
have an individual mind. This false belief causes a preoccupation with the survival
of the body. The shallowest part of the conscious mind is concerned with a
particular body; this part of the mind is the ego. Despite the ego's focus on
the body, our minds are still part of the One Mind. This means we can tap into One Mind, communicate with it, and utilize it as a resource.
